Project Overview

What we did

  • Designed and delivered a year-long capacity programme on GBV prevention for 30 representatives from all 16 SADC member states.
  • Combined virtual training sessions with a regional in-person workshop.
  • Anchored the training in the SADC GBV Prevention Handbook (which we supported developing in 2023).

Dr. Lina Digolo is a paediatrician and epidemiologist who has spent over 17 years leading efforts to prevent violence against women and children and strengthen health and protection systems across the Global South. She works at the intersection of research, policy, and practice to design and scale solutions that improve outcomes for children, families, and communities.
She is widely recognized for her ability to translate evidence into action, helping governments, civil society organizations, and donors build programs that are effective, context-driven, and sustainable. In addition to leading more than 15 major studies, Lina plays a thought leadership role in advising organizations and donors to refine their strategies, strengthen systems, and align investments with evidence and practice-based learning.
Through Evidence & BEYOND, she provides technical leadership and strategic advice to partners worldwide, supporting them to strengthen capacity and deliver lasting impact where it is needed most.
