Scope of Work
The purpose of this consultancy was to lead the development of a manual for training healthcare providers on caring for survivors of gender-based violence. This review involved adapting the content of existing manuals, including the WHO curriculum for training healthcare providers on caring for women subjected to violence, to the local context and service delivery structure. The manual was aligned with the WHO Clinical Handbook: Healthcare for Women Subjected to Intimate Partner Violence or Sexual Violence and highlighted measures to ensure adolescent-friendly services, where applicable. The key deliverables were:
-
The Training Manual on caring for survivors of gender-based violence for health service providers in Sierra Leone, along with the slide deck and handout materials. Training rollout plan and implementation strategies should accompany the manual.
-
Updated list of local support resources and visual representations of referral pathways.
-
A report of the consultancy
