Project Overview

What we did

  • Year 1: Built the capacity of the KCCB programme team to integrate VAC prevention into the Watoto Watunzwe Programme.
    • Refined the theory of change.
    • Reviewed and expanded the case management model.
  • Year 2: Co-designing a multi-level VAC prevention intervention, including:
    • Life skills curriculum for learners.
    • Positive discipline package for teachers.
    • Parent awareness sessions in schools and on local radio.
    • Review of school safeguarding policies.

Dr. Lina Digolo is a paediatrician and epidemiologist who has spent over 17 years leading efforts to prevent violence against women and children and strengthen health and protection systems across the Global South. She works at the intersection of research, policy, and practice to design and scale solutions that improve outcomes for children, families, and communities.
She is widely recognized for her ability to translate evidence into action, helping governments, civil society organizations, and donors build programs that are effective, context-driven, and sustainable. In addition to leading more than 15 major studies, Lina plays a thought leadership role in advising organizations and donors to refine their strategies, strengthen systems, and align investments with evidence and practice-based learning.
Through Evidence & BEYOND, she provides technical leadership and strategic advice to partners worldwide, supporting them to strengthen capacity and deliver lasting impact where it is needed most.
