Five connected stages guide how we work.
We work with partners and the people closest to the challenge to understand their goals, priorities, and experiences. We also examine existing evidence, systems, power dynamics, implementation realities, and the wider context shaping what is possible. This gives us a grounded understanding of the challenge, what is already known, what still needs to be understood, and which decisions lie ahead.
We bring Research Evidence, Practice-Based Knowledge and Lived and Contextual Knowledge together to create a common foundation. Each offers a different perspective and can challenge, confirm or sharpen the others, supporting a fuller understanding and better decisions.
We work with the people who will use and deliver the solution to turn shared understanding into strategies, policies, programmes and practical responses that fit the evidence, context and realities of implementation. Designing together strengthens relevance, ownership and the likelihood that solutions will last.
We test and refine solutions in real-world settings. Feedback and emerging evidence show what is working, what needs to change and where implementation can improve, strengthening both the solution and the people and systems responsible for carrying it forward.
We use ongoing learning to embed effective approaches within programmes, organisations and systems, strengthen capability and prepare for wider implementation where appropriate. This allows the work to adapt, grow and remain effective as contexts change.
